  • In 2025, the microwave rock-breaking TBM jointly developed by NHI and Northeastern University was successfully completed. As an original domestic tunneling equipment, it integrates disc cutter cutting, material conveying and crawler traveling functions. It revolutionizes hard rock cutting and mechanized mining in metal mines and lays an equipment foundation for intelligent and unmanned mining operations.

  • In 2025, the world’s first large spiral vertical mill adopting permanent magnet semi-direct drive technology, independently developed by NHI, rolled off the assembly line, helping the customer hit a record high output of iron concentrate powder.

  • In 2025, the Φ8.8×4.8m SAG mill and Φ6.2×11.0m ball mill were manufactured, finished by NHI and shipped to overseas job sites. The SAG mill of this project boasts the largest specification since the Group’s mixed-ownership reform.

  • In 2025, China’s first hard rock deep shaft boring machine was rolled off the production line and put into service at NHI. Setting two new industrial standards and four new industry records, the machine completed the full breakthrough of Diversion Shaft No.1 at Songyang Pumped Storage Power Station in Zhejiang Province 20 days ahead of schedule.

  • In 2024, the world’s largest 5.5m rolling-type crop shear independently designed and fabricated by the NHI passed commissioning with flying colors. The equipment broke foreign monopolies and filled a domestic product gap. In 2025, it was officially put into operation at the Zhoukou Project in Henan Province and selected for the “Exhibition of Achievements Made in China during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period”.

  • In 2024, the “Endeavor” TBM designed and manufactured by NHI achieved full tunnel breakthrough, setting a world record of 26.521 kilometers of single-machine tunneling distance.

  • In 2024, in partnership with China ENFI Engineering Corporation, NHI completed the off-line delivery of a 7.9m × 4.8m wet SAG mill and a 6.4m × 9.7m overflow ball mill developed for the Asmara Polymetallic Mine Project in Eritrea.

  • In 2023, the full-section potash mine mining machine independently developed by NHI is the first set of its kind in China and the world’s largest dedicated equipment for potash mining. It integrates multiple functions including full-section continuous cutting, loading & conveying, travelling, dust removal, inertial navigation and wireless remote control for solid potash ore excavation and mining.

  • In 2022, China’s first automatic mixing and conveying system independently developed by NHI was put into service at the Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station on the Dadu River. Integrating feeding, batching, mixing and stockpiling functions, it stands as the first domestic material transportation and mixing system and leads the development trend for the construction of homogeneous earth-rockfill dams of the same type.

  • In 2022, the bridge-type scraper reclaimer built for the MPGC Power Plant in the Philippines was fully finished. Equipped with a fully intelligent control system, it ranks as the world’s largest bridge-type scraper reclaimer to date.

  • In 2019, the MLL1200 spiral vertical mill manufactured by the NHI for Sanjiazi Mining in Benxi was put into operation. Consuming 30% to 50% less energy than conventional grinding equipment, the mill features simplified processes, unattended operation and easy maintenance. It broke foreign market monopolies and delivered a breakthrough in China’s iron ore reprocessing technology.
